USAR
Membership Dues Going Up - NJAR is here to help!!!
This February 1st, 2009, the annual membership
fee for the USAR is being increased to $50 per year. This price
change is not something that the NJAR had a say in, but we do have
an idea that can help our players save some money over the course of
the next 3 years. The USAR is allowing players to renew their
memberships through February 1st at the current rates. Here is
our offer.
Any NJ resident USAR member who renews their USAR
membership for the 3-year membership ONLY, will receive a free
second division entry at either the 2009 Garden State Open or the
2009 NJ State Singles. This 3-year membership will cost you
$100, but will net you a $25 savings at the tournament. Thus, you
will be getting 3 years worth of USAR membership dues (a $150 value
under the new system), for $75. If you have any questions
regarding this promotion, please email
Aimee Ruiz. Thanks everyone,
and see you this year at the tournaments!

USAR to Increase Yearly Membership
Dues in '09...
The USAR will be
increasing their membership dues from $35 to $50 per year this
coming January. Please read the following which comes directly
from the USAR, and please take a look at the following
letter from the President of the USAR.
"As
you may have heard or read, USA Racquetball membership fees will
increase effective January 1st, 2009. We wanted to notify you of
this change to give your tournament players the opportunity to renew
their memberships at the present rate of $35 prior to the end of
2008. If they choose this option, please explain to them that the
additional year(s) they renew before
1/1/09
will go forward from their current membership expiration date. For
example, if someone's current expiration date is
June 1, 2009
and they renew now for one year, their new expiration date will be
June 1, 2010."

NJAR
Ladies Day a SUCCESS!!!
The NJAR held its first ever Ladies Day on Saturday September 6th at
The Club at Woodbridge, put together by the ladies of the NJAR
board. With over 25 women attending from NJ & NY, the women were
greeted with a goody bag that included a Ladies Day shirt, and other
items donated from the NJAR, Ektelon and HEAD. They then had a
morning of instruction where they learned tips on the game, basic
forehands and backhands, and practice drills. The Ladies also had
the chance to win prizes in the Radar Gun and “Hit the Can/Pop the
Balloon” contest. After the instruction and games everyone was
treated to lunch where the NJAR hosted a roundtable discussion and
the topic was “What Women Want” out of racquetball. We also had a
drawing where 20+ prizes were given out to all the women. No one
went home empty handed on Saturday!
This caps off a great success for the NJAR in
Ladies Racquetball and we hope to continue having these
get-togethers to get more women involved in racquetball. The NJAR
would like to thank The Club at Woodbridge, Ektelon, HEAD, Wilson,
E-Force, and Rollout Racquetball for all of their donations. Also
a special thanks goes out to Diane Chappel for donating her time to
help with the instruction.
